Patient Perfection
The Life of Abraham: Living Out God’s Story | Certainty in Uncertainty
Bible Reference: Genesis 15:1-21
Day 2 | Dealing with Uncertainty - Patient Perfection
“It is easy to be impatient when it comes to the promises of God.”
At this point in time, Abram has already been in the promised land for some time. However, he has not acquired any land or have had any children yet. Despite all that he had gone through and his obedience to God, personally it seemed like no progress was taking place.
The lack of progress made Abram uncertain.
It is easy to be impatient when it comes to the promises of God. As we ponder Abram’s story, is God highlighting particular areas of your life that are prone to feel uncertain or insecure about? God shedding light on that area helps you to learn how to overcome areas of weakness and shows you that the Holy Spirit is at work in your life, perfecting your faith.
James 1:2-4 NIV
2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
