God wants to Partner

The Life of Abraham: Living Out God’s Story | Prayer Partners
Bible Reference: Genesis 18:16-32

Day 41 | Prayer Partner - God wants to Partner with You

Genesis 18:16-17
The men got up from there and looked out over Sodom, and Abraham was walking with them to see them off. 17 Then the LORD said, “Should I hide what I am about to do from Abraham?"

When God invites us to follow and collaborate with Him, it is never about what we have to offer, but it is about His desire to partner with us.

Question: Why did God want to talk to Abraham about Sodom and Gomorrah?

Answer: God wanted to partner with Abraham.

Partnership has always been God’s design.

Genesis 1:26,28
Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us...Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.”

To be made in God’s image means that we are God’s appointed representatives. From the beginning of time we see that it has always been God’s desire to accomplish His will on earth through people.

We know that God is an all-sufficient God, meaning that God does not need anything or anyone. When God invites us to follow and collaborate with Him, it is never about what we have to offer, but it is about His desire to partner with us. In the following days we will answer four questions to find out more about His desire to partner with us.

As we embark on this journey, let’s invite the Holy Spirit to help us to understand God’s heart of partnership with us.

Dear Father,

I understand that You do not need me for your purposes, but You lovingly invite me to partner with You in Your purposes for my life. Help me to learn and grow and let me experience the joy and wonder of partnering with You Lord. This I pray in Jesus’ Name, Amen
