Day 37 | Successful Service - See Service as a Privilege

Service is a privilege because God sees and rewards. When we genuinely serve others from our hearts, it pleases God.

Genesis 18:1-2
When he saw them, he ran from the entrance of the tent to meet them, bowed to the ground, 3 and said, “My lord, if I have found favor with you
, please do not go on past your servant."

100 year old Abraham begs to serve these travellers. To him, serving was not a chore but a privilege. Sometimes we do not serve because our mindset of service needs be transformed first.

Acts 20:35
I have been a constant example of how you can help those in need by working hard. You should remember the words of the Lord Jesus: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

Service is a privilege because God sees and rewards. When we genuinely serve others from our hearts, it pleases God. This is a promise that Jesus speaks of:

Matthew 6:3-4
But when you give to someone in need, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. Give your gifts in private, and your Father, who sees everything, will reward you."

To begin to serve like Jesus serves, we must allow God to change our perspectives on service from one of poverty to privilege.
