Day 35 | Successful Service - Begin with Success in Mind
“God’s kingdom is a counter-cultural Kingdom – your ability to serve others well is not a weakness to be removed, but a virtue to be praised.”
Success in the Kingdom means service to others.
Everyone in this world prefers to be served, rather than to serve. However, Jesus teaches us that God’s kingdom is different.
Mark 10:42-44
So Jesus called His disciples together and said, “You know that the rulers in this world lord it over their people, and officials flaunt their authority over those under them. But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must be the slave of everyone else."
God’s kingdom is a counter-cultural Kingdom – your ability to serve others well is not a weakness to be removed, but a virtue to be praised. In order to do this we will have to reorient our value system.
In the following days we will discover 5 principles of successful service in God’s kingdom. Let’s begin with this prayer:
Dear Lord,
I understand that You came to earth not to be served, but to serve. I truly desire to be like You and so I ask for Your Spirit to do a deep work in my heart so that I can sincerely serve You through serving others in this life and look forward to Father’s joy and reward through this process.
Thank you for all you are about to do in my life.
In Jesus’ Name I pray,
Amen
