Day 28 | Wronged to Right - God Blesses Through the Wrongs

God is the God who sees you and if you allow Him to, He will bring you out of your wilderness into a path of blessing.

Gen 16:10-12
Then he added, “
I will give you more descendants than you can count.”11 And the angel also said, “You are now pregnant and will give birth to a son. You are to name him Ishmael (which means ‘God hears’), for the Lord has heard your cry of distress. 12 This son of yours will be a wild man, as untamed as a wild donkey! He will raise his fist against everyone, and everyone will be against him. Yes, he will live in open hostility against all his relatives.”

Even though she was wronged against, God promises to bless Hagar. However, God blesses Hagar in His way, not according to her way. Maybe Hagar would have prefer that Sarai and Abram be punished and that she was vindicated through it all, and honestly maybe sometimes in our own hearts we wished God fixed situations the way we liked it. One thing we know for sure – God’s remedy is always better than our remedy. Even to this day God is still blessing Hagar’s descendants. Leaning on God’s wisdom, instead of our own understanding, will always lead us to the path of God’s blessing.

Gen 16:13-14
So she named the LORD who spoke to her: “You are El-roi,” for she said, “In this place, have I actually seen the one who sees me?” That is why the well is called Beer-lahai-roi. It is between Kadesh and Bered.

If you have gone through a time of wrongdoing and suffered as a result, remember that God is the God who sees you and if you allow Him to, He will bring you out of your wilderness into a path of blessing.
