Bring it to Jesus
The Life of Abraham: Living Out God’s Story | Certainty in Uncertainty
Bible Reference: Genesis 15:1-21
Day 8 | Dealing with Uncertainty - Bring it to Jesus
“The word of God tells us that God is looking for people that will worship Him in spirit and in truth, meaning that we are worshipping God in His truth, but also with our authentic selves.”
God appears to Abram first, but we find that Abram was the one who brought up the issues that bothered him first.
Gen 15:2-3
2 But Abram said, “Lord God, what can you give me, since I am childless and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?” 3 Abram continued, “Look, you have given me no offspring, so a slave born in my house will be my heir.”
He did not pretend that everything was all right, but he brought God the concerns that he had. He was completely honest about his feelings. Every close relationship requires authenticity and honesty.
The word of God tells us that God is looking for people that will worship Him in spirit and in truth, meaning that we are worshipping God in His truth, but also with our authentic selves. In this world we find that we sometimes have to put on certain fronts, but in our relationship with our God, He requires us to be vulnerably honest with Him.
Abram had an intimate friendship with God. God wants a relationship like that with you too. As you go through your uncertainty, invite God to walk this journey beside you.
James 4:8
Come near to God and he will come near to you.
