Day 24 | Wronged to Right - The World is Wrong

The truth is that we live in a broken world and everyone is a sinner. That means we do not always make decisions from good judgment even if we try our best.

Question: Who was wrong in this session’s story?

If we examine the context of the story closely, everyone did wrong and everyone was wronged against to varying degrees. It was Sarai’s choice to make Hagar have a child with Abram; Hagar was wrong to be conceited against her barren mistress; Abram should have been a better leader in resolving the disputes within the home.

The truth is that we live in a broken world and everyone is a sinner – that means we do not always make decisions from good judgment – even if we try our best – and there are always details from a person’s background and history that we are not fully aware of. All we can be sure is that there will be wrong doings done to us in this world and that is a foundational fact of life that God’s word tells us.

Romans 3:23
All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

John 16:33
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
